Why is it so important to use solar energy?

Creating energy from conventional fossil fuel sources, such as oil, gas and coal, pollutes our environment.  The process emits toxic substances and dangerous greenhouse gasses into our atmosphere, including: ash and dust, sulfur, poisonous heavy metals and carbon dioxide.  These pollutants cause acid rain and contaminate our water resources and our air – which threatens the future of our planet.

Conventional energy production releases a large amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere – a dominant greenhouse gas, which has decisive effects on our planet.  For every KWh of energy created by a coal-fired plant, about 850-900 grams of carbon dioxide are released into the atmosphere.

Not only does the environment suffer irreparable damage from such pollution, but our health suffers as well.  In fact, it has been proven that there is a direct link between pollution and increased respiratory diseases in children and those who suffer from asthma.  Poisonous heavy metals and organic substances that are released into the air have also been shown to be one of the proven causes of cancer.

Taking care of our environment – profitable for us and for the next generations

Creating energy from photovoltaic panels is a completely clean process, and the more widespread it becomes, the lesser the damages to us and our environment.  In addition, photovoltaic technology, which is used only the sun's rays as an energy source, reduces the amount of greenhouse gasses emitted into the atmosphere to almost zero, thereby reducing the risk of global warming.
